New Service Plans and Pricing

Wednesday, September 11, 2024

Our new service plans are available!

Yes, there's a price/resource increase of about 20% for the first time in over 5 years. Our costs have increased to the point that we were left with no other option. We are not the only VPS provider to increase prices in the last few years. Please compare to see that we are still very price competitive without even taking into account our much more powerful hardware, high availability with automatic failover backed 100% uptime SLA, and free backups. In addition to the fact that many providers have resorted to increasing occupancy/density, which increases contention in order to minimize their price increases. Our performance and uptime-focused offering do not allow for this. So we found the best price/performance hardware and augmented our service plans to keep costs in check for our clients while keeping density low and performance high.

We are also offering a higher frequency and longer retention backup option, and in the coming weeks you will be able to open and explore the backups for file-level restoration. We are working on additional features like quick automated secure deployment, OS installation using cloud-init templates, automated network configuration, and white labeled user-level account access to proxmox for resellers and their clients.

Plans and pricing for existing services will stay the same!

As of today, 09/11/2024, the legacy service plans are no longer available for new orders.

All legacy services have been migrated to the new hardware.

There's additional performance gain to be had with the new service plan configurations vs. the legacy plans. The new CPU type and extension configuration offer over 10% general performance increase and up to 500-600% in some specific workloads. The new dedicated storage i/o thread configuration increases storage performance 20–30% and eliminates many contention issues.

The service plan change/upgrade process could not be reliably automated. It can be performed manually with additional checks within the VM to ensure that there are no unexpected hardware conflicts. If you want to change/upgrade to the new service plans, please open a support ticket.
